Humulus lupulus 'Aureus'

The Golden Hop, Humulus lupulus 'Aureus' has beautiful gold foliage especially if grown in sun. This vigorous herbaceous twining climber makes a wonderful foil for dark flowered clematis, particularly the hard prune varieties (the whole lot can be cut away in winter) Site the roots carefully as they can be invasive. There are both male and female forms of golden hop available, mine is a female, and bears hops in the late summer.
