Clematis 'Durandii'

Deep indigo blue flowers have stiff tepals and a gold eye, make very good cut flower. Flowers July to September and should be hard pruned for best results, although not a very good climber it is tough and reliable, happily scrambling through low shrubs and herbaceous plantings in any aspect. Bred by Durand Freres of Lyon in 1874 by crossing C. integrifolia with C. X jackmanii. Clematis 'Durandii' has an AGM and makes an excellent long lasting cut flower.
