Hedychium
'Tara'
This is a clump
forming perennial. It appears to be a naturally occurring form of
H. coccinea, a good tall grower it originated from wild collected
seed and has a good scent. The rootstock is hardy in the south of
England outdoors without lifting, a warm position (not
necessarily sunny) and winter mulch will ensure flowering before
autumn fades. A spectacular plant for foliage and flower, one of
the taller Hedychium up to 1.8M. Will remain evergreen if
protected.
