Clematis 'Ville de Lyon' Large bright red flowers fade to silver pink with red edges, flowers June to September in flushes. It responds best to a hard pruning in early spring. Like many red-flowered clematis, avoid a cold situation, as it will not flower so well in a draught! This is a good doer. Raised by Morel who was based in Lyon in 1899. Clematis 'Ville de Lyon' is a hybrid between C.'Vivand Morel' and C. texensis (hence the good red colour) |
