Clematis 'Asao' has
large pink crinkly edged flowers in May June and again on the new
growth at the end of the summer. In Japan where this comes from
Asao is a lady's name. Lightly prune out the weaker shoots and
tidy the rest in February. After first flowering it can be cut
back, fed and watered to get a good second show. Asao is unusual
for large flowered clematis in that it has a strong sweet scent.
It will grow 2-2.5M in any aspect.
